András Vörös

Dr. András Vörös is an Associate Professor of Quantitative Social Research Methods at the School of Social Policy and Society of the University of Birmingham, UK. His research focuses on the measurement and analysis of social networks, both offline and online. András is interested in how social relations evolve over time and how they affect the success, health, and wellbeing of individuals. He has experience collecting empirical data and modelling such phenomena in educational and professional contexts. In the past, András has studied the impact of social integration in university cohorts on academic outcomes. In the same project, he used quasi-experiments to understand how meeting opportunities can contribute to the social integration of students at university. These findings help to develop ways in which disadvantaged or marginalised groups can be supported through their educational journeys in higher education. In a similar vein, he has recently been studying collaboration networks among school leaders and the role of social ties in wellbeing among primary and secondary school students.
