Andrea Wullschleger
Andrea Wullschleger is a Professor in the Department of Research and Development at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (School of Education). She is Head of the Centre for Research on the Professional Development of Teachers. Her expertise lies in the field of educational governance, school effectiveness, school improvement, and collaboration within and between schools.
In her current projects, she is studying: the regulation of routines within instructional teams; innovation in collaboration among educational actors on different levels of the educational system, and teacher collaboration within and between schools – all aimed at advancing teaching and learning.
Her work aligns with diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in educational leadership and change by examining how collaboration fosters equitable learning environments. She explores how teacher teams and educational actors engage in joint practices to enhance instructional quality and promote adaptive teaching. Given the strong emphasis on inclusive education in Switzerland, her research highlights the role of teacher collaboration in addressing diverse student needs and ensuring equitable learning opportunities.
By analyzing the interplay between governance structures, teacher collaboration, and leadership development, her research provides valuable insights into the conditions necessary for sustaining equity-centered learning ecosystems. These insights support the LIFT project’s mission by strengthening partnerships across educational stakeholders and fostering systemic change toward more inclusive and equitable education systems.
