Christopher Petrie

Christopher Petrie is CEO & Co-Founder of Kwizie.ai and a Postdoctoral Researcher at EPFL (Lausanne, Switzerland). His research focuses on empowering novices with computational thinking skills and global innovation in education.

Chris is a researcher, product leader and entrepreneur with a strong background in global innovation in education, human-computer interaction (HCI), and computational thinking. He was previously Head of Global Research at HundrED.org, leading over 25 projects with organizations like the Lego Foundation, OECD, and The World Bank, where his work focused on the mission of helping every child flourish through education innovation.

His academic research has centered on empowering novices to develop computational thinking skills, ensuring everyone can actively contribute to shaping our increasingly digital world. Now a postdoctoral researcher at EPFL in Switzerland, he explores and develops novel interfaces and coordinates bachelor and masters courses under the CHILI Lab (Computer-Human Interaction in Learning and Instruction) with Prof. Pierre Dillenbourg. Chris designed and developed Kwizie, an award-winning AI tool used by hundreds of thousands worldwide and validated by an EU Horizon-funded project, helping unemployed citizens in Helsinki and Tallinn gain recognition for their skills through microlearning experiences. His work advances equity-centered leadership networks particularly by developing and researching digital tools that are more accessible and adaptive for everyone.
