Sotiria Kanavidou

Dr. Sotiria Kanavidou is a Research Associate at the University of Southampton, School of Education. Her research focuses on the development of collaborative relationships and the exchange of resources within and across schools, as well as between schools and their wider communities. Sotiria’s work examines how leaders navigate and bridge organizational divides to create more inclusive, diverse and equitable learning ecosystems. She applies social network theoretical perspectives and social network analysis (SNA) to assess and strengthen these collaborative networks through the design of social network interventions. Sotiria brings comparative insights from teaching in a range of formal and informal educational settings and conducting research across diverse contexts in the UK and Greece.

Sotiria also researches how to teach digital accessibility in higher education and develop strategies and skills to remove barriers for all learners. Her work aims to improve access and participation in higher education and the wider community, enabling all learners to engage and succeed.
